Which fabric is better: polyester, nylon, or spandex?

Polyester, nylon, and spandex each have their advantages and disadvantages, making it difficult to definitively say which fabric is better. The choice depends on specific needs.

Polyester: Crisp and wrinkle-resistant, easy to wash, quick-drying, and retains its shape well. Widely used in outdoor, sports, and workwear applications. However, its breathability and moisture absorption are relatively poor, leading to stuffiness and discomfort when worn.

Nylon: Offers the best abrasion resistance among natural and synthetic fibers. It has good moisture absorption and is very comfortable, often used in sports equipment and outdoor clothing. However, its elasticity and shape retention are average, making it prone to deformation.

Spandex: High elasticity is its greatest characteristic. It can stretch significantly and quickly return to its original shape. Often blended with other fibers to increase elasticity, it is used in tight-fitting clothing and swimwear. However, spandex has poor heat resistance and is not resistant to chlorine bleaching.
