The polyester-spandex blend is common. But not every blend works for summer. Here is why this one does.
● Lightweight - and why it matters.
The weight range is 100-150 GSM . To give you perspective, a standard T-shirt fabric is around 150-180 GSM. Summer-weight fabric sits below that. The lighter weight means less material trapping heat against the skin. It also means the fabric dries faster - there is simply less fibre to hold moisture. The fabric feels airy and floaty, not heavy or clingy. This is what makes it work for dresses that need to drape, T-shirts that need to breathe, and activewear that needs to move.
● Moisture-wicking and quick-drying.
Polyester is naturally hydrophobic - it does not absorb water the way cotton does. Instead, it pushes moisture to the surface of the fabric, where it spreads out and evaporates. This is the "wicking" effect. For summer wear, this means sweat does not sit against the skin. It moves away, evaporates, and you stay dry. Some versions of this fabric also have micro-ventilated structures - tiny holes in the knit that increase airflow by up to 35% compared to solid knits. That is a significant difference on a hot day.

We have complete swatch binders ready for every color we hold in stock. The swatches cost nothing at all; you just take care of the delivery fees.
Q8: Is this fabric easy to care for?
A8: Yes. Machine wash cold (30°C), gentle cycle, with mild detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softener - softeners can coat the fibres and affect moisture-wicking performance. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Iron on the reverse side with a cool iron.
