The spandex is woven into the fabric in the weft direction - that is the horizontal yarns that run across the fabric width. The stretch is about 5-8%, which is enough to make a noticeable difference without compromising the fabric's stability. The fabric stretches when you pull it and recovers its shape when you let go. The stretch is permanent because the spandex is part of the yarn structure, not a surface finish. It does not wash out.

● Why 320 GSM.

At 320 GSM, this fabric is heavier than standard corduroy. The spandex adds density, but the weight also helps with stretch performance - the fabric needs enough heft to recover properly. At 320 GSM, the fabric drapes well, holds its shape, and feels substantial. The weight also makes it suitable for both apparel and upholstery.

● What the brushing does.

The brushing process raises a fine nap on the surface. That gives you two things: a soft feel and a bit of warmth. Despite the spandex content, the fabric feels like corduroy - the brushing hides the synthetic feel. People wearing this fabric or sitting on it do not feel that cold, slick polyester touch. It feels more like cotton corduroy.

● Anti-pilling - what it actually means.

We treat this Stretch Corduroy Fabric By The Yard to resist pilling. The spandex fibers are engineered to resist abrasion, which helps reduce pilling at the surface. Our treatment locks the fibers down further. The fabric stays clean-looking for longer.

From deposit confirmation to shipment, we usually deliver within 15-20 working days. This includes weaving, dyeing, brushing, finishing, and packing. The stretch fabric requires slightly more careful handling during finishing, but the timeline is consistent with our standard products.

● Standard samples.

A4-size cuttings of existing stock colors are free. You just pay the shipping cost. If you have your own courier account with FedEx, DHL, or TNT, we can ship using your account.

● Custom samples.

If you want a specific color matched before you place the full order, there is a sample charge. That covers the dyeing setup and the production of a small batch. We deduct that sample charge from your final order if you go ahead with production.
