GRS is not just a sticker. To get certified, the entire supply chain is audited - from the recycling facility to our factory. The auditors verify the recycled content percentage, check water and chemical usage, and review working conditions . When we say this Recycled Velvet Fabric is GRS-certified, we mean the paperwork exists, the audits happened, and the product is trackable. We can provide the certificate on request.

● How it performs compared to virgin polyester.

This is the question we get most often. The answer is: it performs the same, sometimes better. The recycled fiber is engineered to match virgin polyester in tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and dye uptake . In fact, the fabric is tested to withstand 35,000 to 150,000+ Martindale cycles, which is well above the industry standard for heavy residential and commercial upholstery.

● What the pile feels like.

The pile in this velvet is upright and dense - the cut fibres stand straight up rather than tilting in one direction. That means the fabric has a consistent, plush surface that looks the same from any angle . The hand-feel is soft and luxurious, with a subtle sheen that catches the light. Despite the recycled origin, there is no compromise on texture - it feels like premium velvet.

140-150 cm is standard for most weights. Some versions are available in widths up to 300 cm for drapery applications . Width can be adjusted if your cutting patterns require it.

● MOQ.

The MOQ for recycled velvet varies by weight and finish. Standard plain velvet usually starts at 500 metres per colour. Custom finishes (EasyClean, embossed, printed) may have higher MOQs because of the additional setup. For stock colours, we can sometimes accept smaller orders. Sample cuttings (A4 size) are free - you pay shipping.

● Lead time.

15-30 working days from deposit confirmation to shipment, depending on the finish and quantity. Plain velvet is faster; custom finishes take longer.

● Packing.

Standard packing is in rolls with a plastic bag to protect against moisture and dust. Velvet requires careful rolling to avoid pile crushing. We ship from Shanghai or Ningbo port.
